Silk Flowers, foam, wire, Gemstones, tulle
I believe that in today’s society, people are more concerned with
blending in than standing out as individuals. By creating my artwork I
am providing the wearer with the opportunity to blossom – like a
flower, and break free from their inhibitions. I offer these faeries wings
to fly and discover their own inner spirit.

I have been intrigued by the Japanese process of Arashi Shibori/Pleating.
This technique originates in Arimatsu, Japan which connects me to my familial
heritage but also gives focus to my work. These historical reference also
relates well with the theme of water; creating memory of times spent by
the seashore.
